Take the Breath, Make the Call

Take the Breath, Make the Call

✨ Take the Breath, Make the Call

I was dreading the call.

You know the feeling. That little ping on your phone—the message that says “Hey, can you give me a quick call when you get a chance?” No explanation. No context. Just a casual request that somehow sets off a full-blown anxiety spiral.

Did I forget something?
Is something wrong?
Am I about to walk into a mess I didn’t see coming?

I sat with it. Stared at it. Avoided it.
Made excuses to myself. “I’ll do it later. I’m too busy right now. Maybe they’ll forget.”

But here’s the truth: the longer I avoided it, the heavier it felt.
What would’ve been a five-minute task turned into a two-hour mental loop.
By the time I actually called, I’d already wasted more time dreading it than it took to do it.

And guess what?

The call went beautifully.
He was kind, grateful, even joyful to hear my voice.
We talked through something simple, shared a few laughs, and hung up with more clarity and connection than before.

No drama.
No mess.
No meltdown.

Our brains can be bullies sometimes.

They blow up small things into mountains. They’ll try to convince us it’s going to be awkward, heavy, or exhausting. But most of the time? The reality is far gentler than the storm we created in our minds.

And here’s the kicker: avoiding it doesn’t make it easier—it makes it longer.
Longer to find peace.
Longer to move forward.
Longer to free up that energy for what really matters.

So take the breath.
Make the call.
Do the thing.

God doesn’t just meet us at the finish line—He walks with us through the middle. And sometimes the very thing we’ve been avoiding is the one that brings the breakthrough.

You’ve got this.
You really do.
