Rombi

Rombi

We bought a robot recently. One of those robot vacuum cleaners. I call him Rombi. I didn’t like Rombi at first. I like to put my hands on things and some elbow grease into the house, and Rombi just nanchalauntly rolls around for 2 hours vacuuming what would’ve taken me 15 minutes to vacuum AND mop (ahem, thank you very much).
But today, I had a million things to do, workout, make food, get ready, work, laundry…ya know…the list…so, as I went to walk Bentley (oh yeah and walk the dog), I decided to turn Rombi on and be thankful that while I was doing all of my list, Rombi was able to do his. I was thankful that I didn’t even have to think about vacuuming today. I got to focus on the other list and he was taking care of that, with pride….his one job in the whole world.
When Bentley and I got back from our walk I passed Rombi and thought how beautiful it is that God is working on plans we don’t have to even think about anymore.
We go about our day, our list of things to do, people to see, places to go…and God …already…”so loved the world….that He sent…”…you know the rest.
I can just imagine God walking around, or running around, behind “our scenes” and doing His miraculous work without us even having to put “elbow grease” into it.
Now obviously God is not a robot and I am not trying to compare the magnificence of His majesty with the mundune of my little robot vacuum. But it does make me thankful that, for all these years I worked and pressed and picked up and pushed and pleaded and wandered….. my salvation has already been taken care of. And I now get to work FROM love, not FOR it.
“For God (already) so loved the world, that He (already) gave His one and only Son. That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but (already) have everlasting life”. John 3:16
And that, is a beautiful, beautiful thing.
Thank you God for everything
(and Rombi for vacuuming).
