Powered Down
My keyboard wouldn’t work this morning. No matter how many times I slammed (ahem… pressed) the keys, nada.
My first thought was NOT, “ugh, it’s broken”. My first thought was, “shoot, when was the last time I plugged it in?“.
What is your first thought when you are tired and don’t seem to be “full steam ahead” in life? Do you slam (I mean, press) down on yourself and push and force, hoping you’ll work? Is your first thought, “I’m broken”?

Have a little grace today and ask yourself “when was the last time I plugged in?”. And not just for a second threw up a prayer, wiped the sweat, and kept going…but actually connected and allowed yourself the space to be refueled?
Now, I’ll be honest. I let this sucker get depleted completely so, I’ll have to keep my keyboard on the charger for a while before it’s fully ready to go on it’s own again. But, I also have to keep working while it’s charging because…well…life…
Maybe today, you’ll need to “stay on the charger” while working, too because…well…life. We can’t all jet off when we want. Sometimes we have to keep working through depletion. But, we can connect to our power source. A few ways I like to stay connected to my “power source” (Jesus) while still working is by playing good, uplifting music, watching uplifting shows in my downtime, actively being thankful, and consciously not talking bad or down about things. Reading the Bible or talking to God all day is always helpful too. Doesn’t have to be anything crazy, just “hey God….” And He’ll take it from there….because….well….life.
Give yourself a little grace, just breathe and try to stay plugged in today.
